Prescription medications now kill far more people that illegal drugs and far more people are addicted to the legal stuff. That shows that our war on drugs has been a success. Obama for a few years allowed the states to regulate medical marijuana, then recently sent the feds in for record breaking shutdowns and arrests.
Alcohol and tobacco kill far more people than illegal drugs, yet big money keeps them in business. Not only the business of selling them but the business of prosecuting those that use alcohol and the huge money made on treating the horrible effects these drugs have on the human body.
Our prisons are filled with people that are there not because they are violent or have stolen something but they are there because of drug arrests. We are letting people out of prison early because we have the biggest prison population in the world and growing. Not only just in per capita, but in total. We have more people behind bars than China.
