I don't know how many know that they are using the shipping containers that we see on cargo ships and on the backs of trucks as the new frame work for homes and offices.
So far there has been a moderate deal of creativity, but mostly it is all about simpler ways of living (see logicalhomes.com) but now they are popping up in places like Costa Rica. For $12,000 U.S. a person can but a 2 bedroom one bath home/cabin. With a little bit of work they can be made to look like a cool railroad car and with a bit more work they can be made to look like you want it too look. Or they can be made into four bathrooms if you have a tent resort, or made into a 40' by 8' by 9' bar.
But the best thing is that these are made be be stacked 12 containers high and sent across heavy seas with no damage. Builders can combine the units easily. Two units become 40' by 16' by 9'. And they can be stacked about as high as you want to go. I still don't see much creativity yet, but it will follow.
Another product to be looked at at the incredible new series of luxury tents. If you remember those movies with Clark Gable on safari you will remember how luxurious those tents were. Fresh warm linens, a servant waiting on the guests. Fresh coffee. Now they have tents with showers or a luxury bath tub and a bathroom. Take a look at these; http://affordabletent.com/ and especially this one http://www.luxury-tent.com
Bathrooms? They have done a whole lot of revamping the dumping of waste products which makes having a bathroom portable with nothing to really dump, no septic tank, no sewer, just a dry waste product.
Feel free to contact me, I love to discuss this subject.
