USC is still in the hunt, think about it

The odds of both the Big 12 and Southeast winner coming through unscathed is pretty slim. The Big 10 is looking weak and that will hurt their ratings. They and the Pac 10 look bad. The Floridas play each other and that is rough. I see no talent in the Big 10 outside of Penn St. but they seem to always look like a Lion, and play like a Nittany.

If you are going to lose, you want to lose early. It will be hard to run the table in the big 12 and the Southeast is equally hard. They both have to play conference play offs which sucks if you want to run the table.

Out of 12 teams in the Big 12 and 12 in the S'east you can bet there are three or four teams in each league that can play with anybody, 3 or 4 in each that can upset anybody, one or two that do not belong in the conference. But these two conferences always have a better than average percentage.

If anyone had the clear trail it was USC. But to come undefeated out of 12 teams is certainly not a high percentage.

So USC is very much in it. Georgia is going to have some very tough games. They have a phenom taking snaps but they don't score as much as they should.

But where I object with Stoops is that his starters only play half the game, so although they are fresher they are not getting use to playing the whole game. Not only in game conditioning but in experience. They missed probably 4 to 5 quarters total in 3 games. That is a lot of time they could work on something new in a game situation.

Anyway, that is one reporter's opinion.

Relay baton pass

The baton pass looks harder than it is in track. To watch both American teams drop their batons and get disqualified....there is no excuse. In four years of track in high school I never missed a handoff. It is just not that hard.

You get near the other guy and he takes off, when you are ready to pass it you yell, "Red" or whatever you decide upon and he snaps his hand back. You place it in his hand but make sure he takes it from you. You work on that about 10 minutes a week. It is always the passers fault if something goes wrong.

But the key is that he takes it from you.
