It's Christmas Time
and what are the Christians doing ...
are they giving to those that need what it is they need?
and what if you are not Christian
or you don't put yourself down as someone who believes strongly in the
purpose and value of organized sprituality;
or should I use the word religion?
There's People in Need
every day
like the man, who before dawn, rummages through the trash cans
looking for anything of value
When I opened the door to see what it was I was hearing
I was indeed a bit surprised to see the man
and I believe he was as surprised as I was
that someone else was here
I looked at him
He looked at me
I said, "It's OK",
and then I shut the door. And returned to this page
this very page I am writing
and I thought to myself, "maybe you should give him some money. He could probably use that more than an old typewriter that doesn't work, or a no good computer or .... and I looked around,
for something
and I couldn't find anything. And I had no money in my pocket.
But more importantly, I was afraid to go back to the door.
What is it to need that much
that you rummage through Trash Cans at the break of dawn,
morning's First Light
before the People That Don't Need as Much
wake up.
There's People in Need
It don't matter what Time of Year it is
There's always People in Need
What are you doing about that?
What is it you are GIving to People?
Are you giving Truth
Are you giving Love
Are you giving Food
Are you giving Money
Are you giving Things
Are you giving Junk
Are you giving Nothing
What is it you Give
What is it you Give?

FIND YOUR OWN WAY TO THE SUN
Santa Cruz said something very powerful to me.
"Fathers teach Their Sons how to Live. And Sons, Teach their Fathers how to Die."
"Did you say this to your son?" I asked
And he said, "Yes."
And immediately I thought of my daughters. I wondered if I should be telling them this.
It didn't occur to me until just now, that maybe I should be saying this to my Father, cause he hasn't said it to me.
And lately, with everything that's been going on in the world, it just seems that the 'end' is more plausible.
I wondered if Santa Cruz said it to his dad.
or if his dad had said it to him.
